Consent forms, along with details about this program, were sent home with students. If you have not returned your form, please do so and encourage your child to participate in this worthy cause. No donation is too small!

CLASS NOTES
PRE-K: MRS. NUSS
Mrs. Nuss’ Pre-Kindergarten class has continued to soar through our letterbooks! These amazing pre-kinders have continued blending letters and are becoming some great readers! In March, we will begin working on letters H, U and B. We have also been learning about our bodies and the different systems we all have. Be sure to check out our projects in the hallway! In Math, we have been working on comparing and understanding numbers through 31. This month, we will begin learning about measurement. On March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, we will be wearing our green in hopes that the friendly leprechaun will stop in for a visit! Have a great month! 

KINDERGARTEN: MS. ENGLISH
Now that we have moved past the Mardi Gras season it is full steam ahead! We will be finishing up our anatomy unit in the coming weeks. If you have not come in to see our fabulous body projects, you should take the time to stop in. After we finish focusing on our bodies we will move into plants and then animals to finish out the year. We will continue thriving in math and reading I am sure. I am pleased to say that everyone is already reading on some level! Keep up the good work!

FIRST GRADE: MRS. GOLAY
We do fun things in first grade. Sometimes we make crafts. Ashley Borgstede I am learning about plants in science. I am learning about fractions in math. Nicholas Macafore

In first grade we do rocket math. We do science too and it is fun. We also do spelling to help our spelling skills. Aidan Nugent

First grade is good when everyone is polite. It’s bad when people talk out when the teacher is talking. Adam Raslan

First grade has rules like Listen when others are talking and Hands off policy. It is good because we don’t have bad rules or bad things at school. Naser Raslan

School is fun because we get to play outside. I like to learn about
insects. AidanWilliams

SECOND GRADE: MRS. BURRATO
Having mastered their grammar, the second graders have begun the writing process. While learning each step, the students have to apply their knowledge of the previously learned grammar rules. Although it is always a challenge, in the end they can truly see the progress they’ve made and how reading and writing work together. We will begin reading our second novel, The Chalk Box Kid, at the beginning of the 4th six weeks. The students always enjoy this novel, as it is perfectly timed with the planting of our annual garden.

We have started our water unit in science and are now studying clouds. Due to interesting weather patterns, we have had several opportunities to go outside and observe the sky. We are looking forward to spring arriving and with it as usual, more rain!

THIRD GRADE: MS. SBISA
I hope everyone has had a fun and restful vacation! But now that we are back, we are still keeping busy! We are reading our second novel, Charlotte’s Web. We are reading the part where Wilbur escapes from Mr. Zuckerman’s pen. Will Wilbur get lost? Was Wilbur’s choice worth it? You can read along with us to find out!

Keep up with your Rocket Math, as we are starting the wonderful world of division! Keep those multiplication facts and concepts “in your pocket” because we will be using them along with our division facts.

It’s about that time – International Day! Can you believe it?! This year, the third grade class will explore the country of Australia. We will be studying their culture, geography, landforms, and (of course!) their animals! If you have any helpful resources, pictures, stories/experiences to share that would be of benefit to primary school, let me know what you can do to help. G’ day, mates!

FOURTH GRADE: MS. MARRONE
Fourth Graders are SPRINGING into action this six weeks with the continuation of physics in science and division in math. We have completed our unit on literary devices and are returning to grammar mechanics. Soon, we will begin our final novel, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, a fanciful adventure through the land of Narnia. I am also very excited to announce that the Fourth Grade will be learning about the Philippines for International Week this coming month. If any parents are interested in helping, please feel free to contact me via note. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of a foreign place and culture. I know that we are going to have fun!
