Ridgewood’s Official Seal
The seal is Ridgewood’s primary symbol and logo. It can be found on publications, brochures, the painting in the foyer, and all throughout this website.
Lesser known is the meaning of the seal and it’s various elements. Each element has a specific meaning and a purpose.
In the lower left-hand corner, the wishing well represents the tradition from the old school. In the upper left-hand corner, the winged foot of an athlete with the key of knowledge represents Ridgewood’s athletics.
In the upper right-hand corner, the atom represents science and the progression of scientific thought. In the lower right-hand corner, the symbol of the lyre - a stringed musical instrument of early days - represents the arts.
The center of the seal features the fountain of learning, showing the torch reaching upward for knowledge. Finally, the chain running across the seal is positioned to hold all the various elements together.

Fight Song
We’ll fight for
The Blue and the Gold
And we’ll bring home
The Garlands of Victory.
So proud to be part of the team
That is always on the March.
And we will remember the men
Who have fought for the School
We love so dearly.
We’re part of the gallant parade
Of those who carry on
The Blue and Gold Forever!
Alma Mater
Oh hear our praise
Of Ridgewood’s Golden Eagle,
Its wings spread out
Across the bright blue sky.
It flies on high
And calls to us
Of old days and
All our friends
That we hold so dear.
The sunset falls,
And memory calls
Us clearly;
Our thoughts go back
To Ridgewood’s Treasured Halls.
