Solo and Ensemble Festival will be held at Ridgewood on Wednesday, February 8.  All 4th grade students will perform a solo before a judge.  Fourth grade students are scheduled during their regular band time, which is 1:00-1:55.  Although parents do not regularly attend the festival, if you are free during that time and would like to observe your child’s performance, you are welcome to attend.

The next scheduled parent-teacher conference date for K – 4th is Friday, March 10.  Report cards for students in grades Kindergarten through 4 will be given to parents at the conference.

Beginning on March 6, our young students will have another opportunity to reach out and help others.  For the seventh year, we will participate in a fundraiser to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  Olive Garden has partnered with LLS and we will participate in the Pasta for Pennies program.  During this three week program, students collect spare change to help those afflicted with blood cancer.  Students participate in this program as a class, and the top fundraising classroom wins a pasta lunch provided by Olive Garden.  A letter with more details will be sent home on March 6.

Entrance exams for new students entering Ridgewood for the 2017-2018 school year will be administered on Saturday, February 18, 2017.  Applications can be obtained by calling the school office at 835-2545.  Pre-kindergarten enrollment is by application and student interview scheduled individually through the school office.  Kindergarten entrance exams are administered individually and are also scheduled through the school office.  The entrance requirement for pre-kindergarten is that the child be 4 years old by October 15, and kindergarten students must be 5 years old by October 15.

School is closed the week of February 27.  Mardi Gras holidays are Monday, Feb. 27 through Friday, March 3.  .  School resumes on Monday, March 6.  Have a safe holiday!
