As part of their music program, all primary students (grades PreK-4) will take part in a spring concert on Thursday evening, April 27. The students have worked hard throughout the year preparing for this performance. Students are to be at school for 6:45 P.M. All students are expected to participate. More detailed information will be sent home soon.

Once again our primary school students and families have come through to reach out and help others. For three weeks students participated in the Pasta for Pennies drive sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The total amount of money collected in primary school was $1,600. The 4th grade class collected the most with a total of $430.54, surpassing their class goal. As the top fundraising class, fourth grade will enjoy a pasta lunch provided by Olive Garden. The kindergarten class ranked second in collections with a total of $313.48, also surpassing their class goal. Both 4th and Kindergarten will receive a gold pennant. 2nd and 3rd grade classes will receive a silver pennant, and PreK and 1st grades will receive a bronze pennant. Your donations have helped raise vital dollars needed to find better treatments and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Thanks to all of our students and parents who continue to support these worthy causes.

The annual Spelling Incentive Program is a spelling test given each year to all students in grades Kindergarten through 12. This year the SIP test will be administered in Primary School on Thursday, April 20. Specifics regarding the test, as well as the spelling list for each grade level, have been sent home in students’ folders. Please spend time at home preparing for the test, as it does count as two test grades for students in grades first through fourth. Perfect papers earn a certificate.

We are looking ahead to a very busy schedule as the end of the school year approaches. In addition to our academics, there are several activities on the calendar. Please check the school calendar for important dates, and keep the Eaglet calendar handy. Detailed information regarding the end-of-year schedule will be sent home at the beginning of May.

School will be closed Thursday, April 13, through Monday, April 17, for Easter Holidays. School resumes on Tuesday, April 18.

Entrance exams for new students will be administered on Saturday, April 22. For more information, call the school office at 835-2545. Registration for current and new students is under way. Return your registration form to secure a place for the 2017-18 school year. We cannot guarantee a place on the roster until your registration form is returned.

Preparations are under way for our 4th Annual Family Fish Fry and Raffle on April 20. Primary School classes are putting together themed baskets and personalized art projects for raffle at the event. Please make your donations according to the teachers’ requests, so that each class will be represented. If you own a business, or know someone who owns a business and are interested in donating an item, it would be greatly appreciated. We can pick up the donation or you can bring it to the school office. Remember: Ridgewood Preparatory School is a non-profit 501(C)(3) corporation and all donations are tax deductible (id#72-0720383). If you have any questions, please email Dina DiVincenti at ddivincenti@ridgewoodprep.com. Order forms for the dinner were sent home recently. If you are unable to join us for dinner, you are welcome to come and participate in the numerous raffles.
