Congratulations to fifth grader, Colston Chatagnier, who earned a medal for finishing in the top ten at the Elementary Cross Country Meet hosted by Newman School. Colston ran the one mile race in six minutes, eight seconds. Also, congratulations to the entire Elementary Cross Country team for earning a runner-up trophy at the St. Matthew’s Meet.  Medal winners for the Seventh and  Eighth Grade Division were seventh grader, Keegan Cox, for his first place finish and eighth grader, Zachary Shapiro, for his eighth place finish.  Medal winners for the Sixth Grade and Under Division were Colston Chatagnier for third place and fourth grader, Derek DeLatte for eighth place.

The Ridgewood Middle School Cross Country team continued to do well in other meets. On 4 October, several Middle School members of the Cross Country Team competed in the St. Martin’s Cross Country Meet. Keegan Cox earned a medal and a shirt for finishing fifth in the seventh-eighth grade division of the two mile “Mole Hill Race” at Lafreniere Park. Keegan ran the two mile race with a time of 12:25. Colston Chatagnier earned a shirt for finishing eleventh in the fifth-sixth grade division of the one and one-half mile “Mole Hill Race.” Colston ran that one and one-half mile race with a time of 9:59. Congratulations also to all those who earned medals for finishing in the top ten in the Haynes Middle School Challenge on 11 October. Keegan Cox won sixth place in the boys’ division and Emma Shapiro, ninth in the girls’ division. Another  special congratulations to Keegan Cox for earning a medal for his sixth place finish in a field of 338 runners in the Governors Games Cross Country Meet on 14 October.

Saddle up and Read!” The Wild West Book Fair is coming soon to Ridgewood Preparatory School’s Library! From Friday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 21, during the hours of 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., you and your child can shop for Scholastic Books. Grandparents are welcome to make purchases when they come to share Grandparents’ Day with their special kids. If you are unable to make it in person, please visit our online book fair at scholastic.com/fair, open online from Saturday, November 11 through Friday, November 24. Remember, all purchases will benefit our school.

Daylight saving time ends on 5 November 2017! Turn back your clocks one hour!

Your child may enjoy having a yearbook for the 2017-2018 session. Yearbooks may be ordered from Brock Seng, Journalism instructor. The price is $ 75.00 each. Ridgewood’s all-color yearbook has earned several state awards.

You will soon be receiving a letter announcing the Ridgewood Annual Giving Campaign. Please consider sending a gift to help fund the many programs Ridgewood offers that benefit your child and all the Golden Eagles. Although contributions are accepted throughout the year, they must be dated by December 31, 2017 for a 2017 tax credit. Please call the school office at 835-2545 if you need more information.

Middle School six-weeks’ tests for the second six-weeks will be administered from 6 November through 10 November for grades 5-8. (High School tests begin on 3 November.) Schedules for these tests will be distributed on 1 November.
