We would like to spotlight our Primary School students’ accomplishments in the EAGLET.  If you have something to share about your child’s activities outside of school, please send them in writing or email to the teacher, and we will publish them.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Thanks to all for sending in your Box Tops.  Our first submission date is approaching.  If you are interested in helping with Box Tops (clipping and packaging) please let your child’s teacher know and we will be in touch.

LET US HELP OTHERS

Later this month we will kick off the first of two Primary School fundraising programs that we have chosen to participate in during this school year.  Both programs have been carefully chosen over the past several years and are causes that we feel are exceptional opportunities for our students to turn the focus outside of themselves and work for the benefit of others.

The first will be the St Jude MATH-A-THON, an education-based fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  This program involves students in grades K-4, although we will accept monetary donations from our PreK parents!  Over the past years, we have donated $37,351 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. These donations have helped cover the cost of many lifesaving treatments for the patients of St. Jude.  Detailed information will be sent home soon.  Please look over it carefully and encourage your child to participate.

The second fundraiser will be held in March and is the Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pasta for Pennies.  PreK – 4th grade will participate in this spring event.

FIELD TRIPS

Primary School field trips will begin this month. For each field trip the teacher will send home a permission slip.  Please sign and return permission slips in a timely fashion.  Only students who have returned permission slips will attend the field trip.  Please note that each teacher will secure parent chaperones according to the field trip requirements.

PLAN! DONATE! PARTICIPATE!

The first GEPA meeting of this school year was held on September 20.  It was great to see the interest and enthusiasm exhibited by those parents in attendance.  There are many parents who were not able to attend the first meeting who have also come forward with ideas and volunteered their services to the school.  Please watch for the announcement of the next GEPA meeting.

All families should have received information and participation forms for the following scheduled events. If you need more information, please email Amy Shapiro at amybshapiro@hotmail.com Looking forward to seeing everyone come out and support our school!
